Suppression and Deduplication

Suppression prevents existing contacts from being re-prospected. Deduplication prevents the same contact from entering multiple campaigns simultaneously.

Suppression types

• Domain suppression — blocks all contacts at a domain (e.g., suppress acme.com — they are a customer)
• Email suppression — blocks specific addresses (unsubscribes, DNC requests)
• Account suppression — blocks a CRM account and all its contacts
• Global unsubscribe list — populated automatically on unsubscribes. Cannot be overridden.

Managing suppression

Settings → Suppression: upload CSV of domains or emails, sync CRM accounts tagged as "Customer" or "Churned" automatically, view and remove entries.

Auto-sync by CRM

• HubSpot: lifecycle stage "Customer" or "Evangelist" → auto-suppressed
• Salesforce: Account Type "Customer" → auto-suppressed
• Pipedrive: contacts in won deals → auto-suppressed

Deduplication

Deduplicates by email address. If the same email appears in two active campaigns, only the first enrollment is active. The duplicate is held pending until the first campaign completes.

Deduplication is per workspace, not per rep. First campaign to match the contact wins.
